Sunday sport: Ladies Football Finals, National Athletics Championships

Gaelic Games

Rivals Meath and Dublin meet in the All-Ireland Senior Ladies Football final for the first time since 2021 this afternoon.

Throw-in for the senior decider is at 4.15pm.

The opening match at Croke Park is the junior final between Louth and Antrim.

That one is just underway with Antrim leading 1-1 to 0-0 so far.

Meanwhile, Laois take on last year's beaten finalists Tyrone in the Intermediate decider at 1.45pm.

Soccer

Shamrock Rovers manager Stephen Bradley thinks Derry City will come to Tallaght Stadium aiming to win this evening.

The Hoops are eight-points ahead of their rivals at the top of the SSE Airtricity League table, and victory would see them take another big step toward winning the title.

St Patrick's Athletic make the trip to Waterford for a 4pm kick-off at the RSC.

Athletics

European Indoors champion Sarah Healy is among the star names in action on day two of the National Athletics Championships today.

Healy, who has had an impressive outdoor season to date in the Diamond League, goes in the women's 800-metres final.

Mark English will look to add to his national medal collection by claiming another title in the men's 800-metres.

Swimming

Team Ireland have finished their World Aquatic Championships campaign with 4 finals, ten semi finals and three national records.

The tournament came to a close in Singapore today after a successful week for the Irish.

Ellen Walshe was ninth and just outside the 400m Individual Medley Final on the last day of action. The Templeogue woman was just 4 tenths of a second off booking her place in the decider.

Meanwhile the men's 4x100m Medley Relay team failed to emerge from their heats.

John Shortt, Eoin Corby, Jack Cassin and Evan Bailey swam together for the first time internationally and picked up a respectable 21st place finish.

F1

Ferrari's Charles Leclerc will go from the front at the Hungarian Grand Prix today.

He heads the two McLarens, with championship leader Oscar Piastri second and teammate Lando Norris third.

Lights out in Budapest is at 2pm. Meanwhile, Alex Dunne finished 9th in the F2 feature race with driver's championship rival Leo Fornaroli taking the victory.

It leaves the Offaly man fifth in the overall standings, 30 points behind the Italian.
