It is with regret that we note the following deaths from Counties Cavan and Monaghan over the past few days as reported on RIP.ie.

Aidan Donohoe

Redhills, Cavan

Aidan Patrick Donohoe, Yarmouth Port, Massachusetts, USA and formerly of Drumbran, Redhills, Co. Cavan, 21st July 2025, after a courageous and unwavering battle with illness, aged just 61.

Predeceased by his parents Michael and Maureen, and his beloved brother Peter. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his loving wife Jackie, who was by his side every step of the way these past few months; his daughter Aisling; his son Jack; and his son-in-law Michael, siblings Noel, Eileen, Gerry, Joseph, Catherine, Brendan, Deirdre, and Martina, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends, on both sides of the Atlantic.

A gathering was held to honour Aidan at the family home on Cape Cod on Saturday, August 2nd. Aidan’s Funeral Mass will take place on Saturday August 30th at 11am at St. Brigid's Church, Killoughter, Redhills.

Aidan’s family would like to acknowledge his care team at Massachusetts General Hospital — Dr. Matthew Strickland, Dr. Uma Sachdeva, Dr. Alyssa Letourneau, Melissa Woolwine, and infusion nurse Sally — all of whom treated him with respect, laughed with us, and fought alongside us.

Michael Tully

Danesfort, Cavan

Michael Tully, Danesfort, Cavan, Wednesday August 6th 2025, peacefully in the loving care of his family and the staff at the Hermitage Clinic, Dublin. Predeceased by his parents John and Mary Rose Tully. Michael will be very sadly missed and dearly loved by his wife Patricia and his son's Killian (Orlaith), Neal (Emma), Fergal (Jean), Micheal (Olivia) and Pauric (Ciara). Also by his 14 adored grandchildren, brothers Eamonn and Sean, sisters Kathleen King, Sue, Marie Tully-Hand, Evelyn and Patricia, brothers in law, sisters in law, nephews, nieces, all his extended family, good neighbours and a wide circle of friends.

Reposing at the Mc Mahon Funeral Home, Farnham Rd, Cavan (H12C821) on Friday evening from 4pm until 7pm. Michael's remains will leave his home in Danesfort on Saturday morning at 10.30am and will travel to St.Patrick's Church, Drumcor, arriving for a Funeral Mass at 11 o'clock. Burial will take place afterwards in the adjoining Cemetery.

Bridie Callan

Donaghmoyne Court, Carrickmacross, Monaghan / Dundalk, Louth

The death has occurred of Bridie Callan, Donaghmoyne Court, Carrickmacross and formerly of Coolcair, Donaghmoyne, Co. Monaghan, peacefully in the tender loving care of the staff at Castleross Nursing Home, Carrickmacross, Thursday 7th August 2025. Predeceased by her parents Owen and Bridget and her brothers Michael, Pat, James, Gene. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by her nephews, nieces, sister-in-law, relatives, neighbours and friends both in Ireland and England.

Reposing at Deery’s Funeral Home, Carrickmacross on Friday (8th Aug) from 4pm to 7pm. Removal on Saturday morning (9th Aug) at 9am to St. Lastra’s Church, Donaghmoyne, A81 P978 arriving for Requiem Mass at 10am. Burial afterwards in adjoining Cemetery.
