A man was airlifted to hospital with injuries following a workplace accident in the east of the county last week.

The incident occurred at the Kingspan manufacturing facility in Kingscourt at around 11:45am on Thursday, August 21, when it’s understood pallets were being loaded onto a trailer.

A man, aged in his 50s, was injured during the incident, and a spokesperson for the company said they are “co-operating fully” with the Health and Safety Authority’s investigation.

On behalf of the company, the spokesperson also extended their “best wishes” to the employee injured.

They added that safety is “of paramount importance” at all Kingspan sites.

An Garda Siochána meanwhile confirmed that officers “assisted” at the scene of the workplace accident.
