Wilton Waste employs 80 people.

Wilton Recycling: Backing local community groups

Originating in Ballyjamesduff, Wilton Recycling remains committed to supporting the local community, not just through employment, but through meaningful action for people and the environment.

Over 80 local staff are employed at the Wilton Recycling’s head office, many of whom live within a few miles of the site. In recent years, the company has gone even further - introducing new initiatives that directly benefit the area.

Wilton Recycling has planted 45 acres of forestry along with developing a biodiversity zone producing saplings, a wildflower meadow, wildlife pond and newly installed bee hives. The initiative has many benefits - creating a protected space that supports pollinators, wildlife, and natural regeneration, while helping offset the company's carbon emissions. Staff also benefit from green-focused incentives and discounted waste services as part of the Wilton's commitment to sustainability.

Sport continues to play a central role with Wilton Recycling proudly sponsoring the Cavan GAA Football, Camogie, Hurling and more recently sponsoring the senior LGFA team. The business also supports many underage teams across the county.

Supporting club and county

And now, through its Supporting Club and County programme, Wilton Recycling is helping local GAA clubs raise vital funds. New customers who sign up for Wilton Recycling’s household wheelie bin service can nominate their club to receive a €100 donation – supporting purchasing of jerseys, equipment, and upgrading club facilities.

Director Rodney Wilton said: “We’ve always believed in giving back. Local people built this business – and we’re proud to keep backing the community in return.”
