Secretaries and caretakers continue strike action

Secretaries and caretakers in Cavan are striking indefinitely until they receive pension parity with other school staff.

Represented by Fórsa, they also want the same entitlements as other public servants.

This morning, a group of secretaries from a number of schools in Cavan took part in the national strike action.

They stood outside St Felim's National School, meanwhile they plan to protest outside Killygarry National School later today.

They will also protest at additional locations tomorrow (Tuesday).

Talks within the Workplace Relations Commission on Wednesday broke down with no agreement reached.

Those striking in Cavan are joined by colleagues nationally, with strike action taking place country-wide this morning.
