Cavan man dies in Perth
The family of a young Cavan man are preparing to fly out to Australia to bring his body home after he tragically died whilst out jogging last week.
Jamie Colburne, who only turned 26 last month, died in Perth where he had been living and working.
“It was sudden and quick, no crime or accident involved, he just collapsed while out jogging on Wednesday, August 27. We are all beyond heartbroken,” said his family in a statement shared by Finnegan Funeral Directors.
Mr Colbourne from Lisreagh is the son of well known local jewellery designer Elena Brennan.
The family statement continues by saying their son and sibling was “loved to bits by everyone that had the pleasure of crossing his path - here in Ireland, over in Western Australia and in New Zealand".
They described Mr Colbourn as “ambitious, passionate, funny, weird, tremendous, wonderful, beautiful, hilarious, amazing, fun, and bold. He was an extraordinary young man,” say his family, adding: “He will be deeply missed and his memory cherished by his family and friends everywhere.”
It is understood that consular assistance has been offered to the young man's family.
Mr Colburne is survived by his parents David Colbourne and Elena Brennan; his siblings Matthew, Donna, Ciarán and Seán; his aunts and uncles Attracta, Des, Ian, Irene, Bernie and Trish; cousins Aoife, Rachel, Katie and Shane; extended family and many friends.
