Dublin-based rock band Inhaler are set to headline the Countdown Concert at Dublin Castle this year as part of New Year’s Festival Dublin.

Presale/early bird tickets priced at €49.90 will go on sale on Monday, September 8th, at 10am on Ticketmaster. General tickets priced at €59.90 will go on sale on Wednesday, September 10th, at 10am.

The show will follow a big year for Inhaler, who released their third album, Open Wide, in February.

The group is also on a high after performing on the Main Stage at Electric Picnic over the weekend and playing their biggest Dublin headline show to date earlier this year at St Anne's Park.

Open Wide debuted at number two on the Official UK charts and soared to the number one spot on the Official Irish Albums Chart.

The New Year’s Festival Dublin will see three days of festivities across the county, running from December 30th, 2025, through January 1st, 2026.

Director of product development at Fáilte Ireland, Orla Carroll, said: “We’re excited to announce the return of New Year’s Festival Dublin this year with the fantastic Inhaler as our headline act, with further acts and events to be revealed over the coming weeks.

"Building on the success of previous years, New Year’s Festival Dublin continues to grow as a flagship event under Fáilte Ireland’s Winter in Dublin programme.

"It is designed to showcase Ireland’s vibrant culture and live entertainment offering during the shoulder season, while playing a vital role in driving footfall into the city, supporting local businesses, and enhancing Dublin’s reputation as a world-class destination for visitors.

"We look forward to working with the Office of Public Works to deliver an unforgettable three-day celebration across the city.”

Head of heritage and capital works delivery at the Office of Public Works, Rosemary Collier, said: “The OPW is once again delighted to work in partnership with Fáilte Ireland to participate in the New Year’s Festival in Dublin for 2025/2026.

"As custodians of Ireland’s rich national heritage portfolio, we are proud to share these wonderful sites with a wider audience through major events like the New Year’s Festival.

"Dublin Castle, which welcomes hundreds of thousands of visitors each year, is an iconic landmark in Ireland’s capital which has, throughout the centuries, witnessed so many influential events in Irish history.

"The Castle itself presents a unique setting to showcase the star-studded line-up of Irish bands and musicians celebrating the lead up to 2026.”
