Drivers clocked over the limit

Members of the Cavan Roads Policing Unit detected several serious speeding offences over the weekend.

They include motorists travelling at 91km/h in a 50km zone; 93km/h in a 60km/h zone; and 137km/h in a 100km/h zone.

On Friday, August 28, meanwhile, gardaí stopped a vehicle being driven erratically.

Checks later revealed the driver was already disqualified from driving and a roadside oral fluid test returned positive results for Benzodiazepines and Cannabis.

The driver's vehicle was seized and the driver arrested and charged with a court date appearance to follow.
