Corlismore 2025 timed auction set for next week
Advertorial
Over a dozen animals from one of the country's leading pedigree farms will go on sale next week.
Corlismore Pedigrees' annual production sale will feature eight Hereford heifers, two polled Hereford males and three Angus females. Held in conjunction with Ballyjamesduff Mart and MartEye, the sale will commence on Friday, September 26 and close on Monday, September 29. This follows last year's highly successful sale, which attracted buyers from across the country, and even as far away Portugal.
Of the pedigree Hereford heifers Gary McKiernan explains they are a mixture of in-calf and maiden animals.
“Some of them are the same breeding as this year's show champions, and half sister of this year's national Tullamore Female Champion and Reserve Overall Champion. That heifer is sired by a bull Allowdale Rambo, and by a cow Corlismore Beauty. She was a year old in July,” says Gary who runs the renowned pedigree enterprise with his father Sean and wife Evelyn.
Top cow lines
For those familiar with top pedigree lines, the Herefords in the sale include those sired by Normanton 1 Laertus, Solpoll 1 Real Good and Allowdale Rambo 475, and Shiloh-farm Dynamite. Equally, amongst the Angus up for sale are heifers sired by national and international award winning bulls, Rawburn Boss Hogg, Drumcrow Raw Peak, Deelish Shotgun.
“They would be some of the top cow lines that we have,” assures Gary.
“These are very good heifers, but with our numbers at a maximum we have to sell them. These are top-top heifers,” he says.
Viewing days have been arranged for Saturday and Sunday, September 27-28, but prospective buyers can view the animals on the farm beforehand by contacting Gary.
