It is with regret that we note the following deaths from Counties Cavan and Monaghan as reported on RIP.ie in the last few days.

Eric Forde

Shibbilis, Cootehill, Cavan, H16 KD92

Peacefully at home, on Sunday 21st September 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Resting at his home.

Eric will be dearly missed by his devoted wife Elizabeth, daughters Janet (Conor Bradley), Alison (Nigel Norris) and Joanne (Ian Campbell), also his treasured grandchildren Ryan, Leah, Megan, Alanna, Sophia and Bertie, his brother Reuben (Glenis), sisters Winnie (Brian), Evie (Allan) and Hilary, nieces, nephews and the entire family circle.

Funeral service on Tuesday, 23rd September, at the family home, eircode H16 KD92, at 12 noon. Interment afterwards in Corlea Presbyterian Churchyard, eircode A75 W682, at 2pm approx.

Callers are welcome on Monday, from 4pm until 8pm.

Family flowers only. Donations in memory of Eric, if so desired to Cavan/Monaghan Palliative Care, (Cheques made payable to same)

The death has occurred of Eamon Smith, Lishenry, Ballyjamesduff, Co Cavan & formally of Coolock & Finglas on Sunday 21st of September 2025 peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family.

Predeceased by his parents Edward & Bridgit and his former wife Ellen. Sadly missed by his adoring wife Nuala, his beloved children Sharon & Thomas, step daughters Rachel & Ruth, cherished grandchildren Aaron, Evan, Erica, Amelia, Callum and Bradan, brothers Noelie, Tommy and Davy, daughter in law Sharon, son in law Sam, extended family, neighbours and special friends.

Cremation service at 4pm on Wednesday 24th of September at Funeral Home & Crematorium, Dublin Road, Cavan (H12 RF78).

No flowers please. Donations, in lieu if desired to St Francis Hospice.

Seamus Reynolds

Killyrane, Emyvale, Monaghan

The death has occurred of Seamus Reynolds, Killyrane, Emyvale, Co. Monaghan, who passed away suddenly and unexpectedly at his home on Saturday 20th September.

Predeceased by his parents George and Kathleen and his brother Martin in infancy and brother in law Joseph Toner.

Seamus is survived by his brothers Sean (Deirdre), Brendan (Bernedette), Michael and Paul and his sisters Marie Smyth (Cyril), Teresa Breslin (Paul) and Ann Toner, nephews, Gary, Colin, David, Robert, Patrick and Conor, nieces Ruth, Donna, Brenda, Michelle, Cathy, Louise, Catherine and their spouses and grand nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.

May Seamus' gentle soul Rest in Peace.
