It is with regret that we note the following deaths from Counties Cavan and Monaghan as reported on RIP.ie in the last few days.

Kathleen Brady

Dublin and late of Aughacashel, Ballyjamesduff, Co. Cavan.

The death has occurred of Kathleen Brady peacefully, in the loving care, of the staff of Clonskeagh Community Hospital on 23 September 2025.

Predeceased by her parents James and Mary, her brother Kevin, and sister-in-law Margaret. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by her loving brother Andy, sisters Colette and Ann. Sadly missed by her brother and sisters, her brother-in-law Dan, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, cousins, relatives, neighbours, and friends.

Rest In Peace

Reposing at Matthew’s Funeral Home, Bailieborough Road, Virginia (A82YV58) on Wednesday evening from 6 o’clock until prayers at 8 o’clock.

Removal on Thursday morning to St. Patrick’s Church, Lurgan, arriving for Funeral Mass at 11 o’clock. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Family flowers only, please. Donations, if desired, to a charity of your choice.

The Brady family would like to express their gratitude for the exceptional care, kindness and support shown to Kathleen in Clonskeagh Community Hospital.

Frankie Lynch

5 Bramley Crescent, Castleblayney, Monaghan

The death has occurred of Frankie Lynch, 5 Bramley Crescent, formerly The Whitehouse, Market Square, Castleblayney, Co. Monaghan,. Peacefully, Monday 22nd September 2025, in the tender care of the staff at St. Mary’s Hospital, Castleblayney.

Predeceased by his beloved wife Berry, parents Pat and Margaret, brothers Maurice, Petie and Charlie.

Deeply regretted and lovingly missed by his daughters Aisling, Sharon, Gráinne, and Anne, sons-in-law Paul, Derek and Mark, grand-sons and grand-daughters, sister Eva (Gorman), brother-in-law, Jimmy Dillon, sisters-in-law, Maureen Lynch and Noreen Finnegan, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Reposing at his daughter Gráinne and Mark Duffy’s home in Drumhowan, A75 Y421 on Thursday from 12noon to 9 pm.

House private at all other times please.

Removal on Friday morning, travelling via Lough Egish Road, McGrath Road, Muckno Street, Market Square and Church Street arriving to St. Mary’s Church, Castleblayney for requiem mass at 12 noon.

Burial afterwards in adjoining cemetery where Frankie will be laid to rest alongside his beloved wife Berry.

Paddy Matthews

Carrickmacross, Monaghan

The death has occurred of Paddy Matthews, Rockdaniel Road, Carrickmacross, Co. Monaghan, peacefully in his 93rd year at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda Tuesday 23rd September 2025. Predeceased by his parents Bernard and Margaret Matthews and his wife Theresa. Deeply regretted and sadly missed with love by his sons Bernard (Aisling), PJ (Denise), daughters Ann and Bernadette (Tommy), sister Nan, grandchildren, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at Deery’s Funeral Home, Carrickmacross, A81 C653, on Wednesday from 4pm to 8pm. Removal on Thursday morning on foot from Deery’s Funeral Home arriving to St. Joseph’s Church, Carrickmacross, A81 K253 for Requiem Mass at 11am. Burial afterwards in St. Enda’s Cemetery, Killanny, A81 VY39.
