Councillors rubber stamp 31 new units in Cootehill

Six estates were taken in charge at the monthly meeting of Bailieborough Cootehill councillors last week.

The move was proposed by Cllr Clifford Kelly (FF) and seconded by Cllr Adrian Rodgers (Aontú).

The estates to be taken in charge are: Beckscourt Manor in Bailieborough; Lakeside View in Lisnalea, Bailieborough; Bramblewood in Dunaree, Kingscourt; An Tor Aonarach in Dunaree, Kingscourt; Fana Rua in Dunaree, Kingscourt and St Michael’s Close in Cootehill.

Meanwhile a Part VIII planning application for the Lios na Rí development in Cootehill was proposed by Cllr Clifford Kelly and seconded by Cllr Carmel Brady (FG).

The planning covers the construction of 31 new units comprising of two four-bed two-storey semi-detached units; 12 two-bed two-storey semi-detached properties; and three blocks of three two-bed two-storey townhouses. Also included are two two-bed single-storey accessible semi-detached units; and one block of six one-bed apartments.

The permission also provides for the completion of external works to 13 substantially-completed units, and alteration to the site layout and revisions to the site boundary, road and footpath layout and layout of open space.

The development will consolidate the site as a 44-unit housing development.
