It is with regret that we note the following deaths from Counties Cavan as reported on RIP.ie in the last few days.

Rose Jordan

(née McKeever)

Texas Lane, Malahide, Dublin / Kingscourt, Cavan

The death has occurred of Rose Jordan (née McKeever), Texas Lane, Malahide, Co. Dublin and formerly of Dunaree, Kingscourt, Co. Cavan, after a short illness at Midlands Regional Hospital, Tullamore, 3rd October 2025.

Predeceased by her beloved husband Richard, her parents Joseph and Elizabeth McKeever, her brothers John and Thomas, her sister-in-law Gene. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by her loving children Joe and Seamus, her sisters Anna Carolan and Margaret Greene, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Rest in Peace

Reposing at the Kieran Bros. Funeral Home, Hall Street, Kingscourt, Co. Cavan, (A82R3W2) on Tuesday 7th October from 4pm to 7pm. Funeral Mass on Wednesday, 8th October, in the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Kingscourt, Co. Cavan at 10am with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

John Smith

Kilnacor, Crosskeys, Cavan

The death has occurred of John Smith, Kilnacor, Crosskeys, Co. Cavan, peacefully on Saturday, 4th October 2025, at Beaumont Hospital, Dublin, surrounded by his loving family.

Predeceased by his wife Peggy, parents Jack and Margaret Smith, brother Benny, sister Anna May and, most recently, his sister Eileen. Sadly missed by his daughter Martina (Mark), grandchildren Chantel (Daniel), Jade (Lewis), Kaithlyn (Liam) and Zoe (Jeggs), and his three adoring great-grandchildren Harry, Shea and Kai. Deeply regretted by his brothers Andy and Phil, sisters Kathleen, Bridie and Madge, his good neighbour Leo, extended family and friends.

May he Rest in Peace.

Reposing at Lakelands Funeral Home, Dublin Road, Cavan, on Sunday from 4.00pm until 6.00pm.

Removal from his home on Tuesday morning at 11.30am to St. Matthew's Church, Crosskeys, arriving for Requiem Mass at 12.00 noon, followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery.

Patrick (Paddy) SWARBRIGG

Highfield, Ballinderry, Mullingar, Westmeath / Cootehill, Cavan

Patrick (Paddy) SWARBRIGG, Highfield, Ballinderry, Mullingar, (formerly of Cootehill, Co. Cavan) October 3, 2025 - (peacefully) at home, surrounded by his loving family, after an illness bravely borne with great strength and dignity; pre-deceased by his beloved wife Jackie, his parents John Patrick (Pa) and Kate.

Paddy will be dearly missed and forever remembered by his loving children John, Kate, Brian and David, cherished grandchildren Ellie, Billy and Alana, dear brothers and sisters Jim, Tommy and Martin, Marie, Catherine, Geraldine, Margaret, Pat, Angela and Connie, daughter-in-law Anne Marie, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, relatives, neighbours, carers and wide circle of friends.

Reposing at Shaws Funeral Home, Bishopsgate St., Mullingar (N91 RY65) on Monday October 6, from 4.00 o'c. concluding with prayers at 7.00 o'c. Funeral Mass on Tuesday morning at 11.00 o'c. in the Cathedral of Christ the King, Mullingar followed by burial in Coralstown Cemetery.
