It is with regret that we note the following deaths from County Monaghan as reported on RIP.ie in the last few days. There were no deaths reported for Cavan.
Marie Connellan

The death has occurred of Marie Connellan, late of The Garden House, Townparks, Ballyhaise, Co. Cavan, peacefully, in the loving care of her family and the Palliative Care Team at Cavan General Hospital, 5th October 2025.
Marie will be deeply missed by her beloved son Joseph, her brothers Pat (Fiona), David (Sylvia), Tony (Sheila), and Derek (Jacinta), her sisters Kathleen (Tony), Geraldine (Joe), and Martina (Doug), as well as her cherished nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces, godchildren, friends and neighbours.
May her Gentle Soul Rest in Peace.
Funeral service on Thursday 9th October at 12.00 noon in Lakelands Funeral Home and Crematorium, Dublin Road, Cavan, followed by Cremation.

The death has occurred of Mrs Pauline Olwill née Lynch,
Mullaghland, Mullagh, Co Cavan,
(formerly Carrick, Finea).
Former National School Teacher, Crossreagh NS. Pauline died peacefully at her home in the loving care of her family 6th October 2025.
Predeceased by her husband Packie, her parents Philip and Mary Lynch, Brothers: Dr Tom, David and Hughie, Sisters: Kitty, Brigid, Sr. Paulinus (Holy Rosary Sisters), Margaret and Joan.
Sadly missed by her Brother Pat (Dublin), nieces and nephews, cousins, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, relatives and friends.
Reposing at Matthews Funeral Home, Bailieborough Road, Virginia, (A82 YV58), on Tuesday 7th October from 6pm. concluding with prayers at 8pm
Funeral Mass in St Mary's Church Cross, on Wednesday morning at 11am. Burial afterwards in Mullagh cemetery.

Peacefully in Lisdarn Unit, Cavan surrounded by her loving family on Monday 6th October.
Recently predeceased by her beloved husband Norman.
Florrie will be very sadly missed by her son Kenneth and partner Mabel, grandchildren James and Hope, brother-in-law Robert, cousins, relatives, neighbours and her many friends.
Resting in Lakelands Funeral Home (H12 RF78), Dublin Rd, Cavan tomorrow Tuesday from 6pm concluding with prayers at 8pm.
Removal from Lakelands Funeral Home on Wednesday via Cloverhill, arriving in Killoughter Parish Church (H14KV70) for funeral service at 2pm, followed by burial in the adjoining churchyard.

CURRAN, PHILIP (James), (Bishopstown, Cork, formerly of Clones, Co. Monaghan, retired Ulster Bank Manager, South Mall, Cork), peacefully, surrounded by his family, on October 5th, 2025.
Deeply mourned and lovingly remembered by his devoted wife Veron (née O’Connell), his children Barry, Mark, Ruth (Hurley), John, Susan and Debbie (Emery), his beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren, his brothers and sisters Marie, Eileen, Brian, Dympna, Kevin and Eithne.
Predeceased by his infant daughter Mary and by his brothers Gerry and Joe.
He will be hugely missed by his heartbroken wife, children, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, his siblings and in-laws, many nieces and nephews, his grandchildren Clodagh, Oisín, Jahn, Zoe, Ben, Levi, Isabelle, Andrew, Isaac, Abigail, Luke and Seán, his great-grandchildren Evelyn and Eli and his many many friends and family both in Ireland and abroad.
Reposing at the Wilton Funeral Home, Sarsfield Road of Jerh. O’Connor Ltd; on Wednesday (October 8th) from 5.00pm to 6.00pm.
Requiem Mass at 11.00am on Thursday (October 9th) in the Church of the Real Presence, Curraheen Road which can be viewed here.
Funeral afterwards to St. James’ Cemetery, Chetwynd.

Predeceased by her Mother Nan Murphy, her sister Mary, her brothers Frank, Noel, and Brian. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by her nephews Kevin and Ronan, her carers - close friends,extended family and her neighbours.
