Local Enterprise Office (LEO) Cavan provides a full information and advisory service to new and existing entrepreneurs on all aspects of setting up, running and growing a business. The aim of LEO Cavan is to promote entrepreneurship, foster business start-ups and develop existing micro and small businesses to drive job creation in Cavan.
LEO Cavan serves as a “first stop shop” to provide support and services to new and existing businesses. Our office also acts as an information source and referral point for all state enterprise agencies.

Our suite of training programmes is tailored to meet the needs of small businesses and cover key areas such as Starting Your Own Business, Digital Marketing, Finance and Sales.
The two key trends for small businesses in Ireland now are the twin transition of sustainability and digitalisation.
Green for Business
The LEO Green for Business offers eligible clients a free support for businesses interested in evaluating their environmental impact and working with a mentor to put a plan in place to reduce this impact.
Energy Efficiency Grant
Grants of up to €10,000 are available for Energy Efficiency Grants in your business. For more information, contact the Local Enterprise Office now.
Market Explorer Grant
The Market Explorer Grant supports first time and small-scale exporters to undertake essential market research and to support the development of viable and sustainable market entry strategies in new geographic markets. The amount of the grant is to a maximum of €10,000 or 50% of eligible costs. It can cover the cost of exhibitions and trade fairs as well as travel costs and subsistence.
Digital for Business
Digital for Business is an initiative from the Local Enterprise Office designed to give Cavan Businesses a competitive edge. Our expert digital consultants assist through:
* Analysis of existing digital systems in the business to identify potential gaps in meeting business needs.
* Exploration of opportunities to optimise existing systems and to integrate with new solutions to enhance business operations.
* Guidance on the implementation of new or enhanced digital solutions.
Grow Digital Voucher
The Grow Digital Voucher offers small and medium businesses with up to 50 employees financial support to embrace digital technology. A digital for business project report must be completed within the previous two years.
Funding: Of up to €5,000 to invest in software and training/IT configuration.
* Boost Efficiency: Streamline operations and enhance productivity with new digital tools.
* Reach New Customers: Expand your reach and connect with a wider audience online.
* Stay Competitive: Bridge the digital gap and compete effectively in today's marketplace.
Financial Supports
We provide a range of financial supports designed to assist with the establishment and/or growth of eligible enterprises in the manufacturing and internationally tradeable services (employing ten people or less) with the potential to export. These include feasibility, priming and business expansion grants.
Enterprise Initiatives
The Local Enterprise Office also offers various initiatives to encourage and promote enterprise across the County working with key stakeholders.
We support the organisation and delivery of national initiatives including Local Enterprise Week, the Local Enterprise Village at the National Ploughing Championships, National Women’s Enterprise Day and the Student Enterprise Programme.
Cavan Dublin Business Network
This network was established in September 2024.
It’s aim is to create closer connections between businesses in Cavan and businesses in Dublin who have Cavan connections.
Cavan Digital Hub
Cavan Digital Hub is a digital ecosystem for stimulating and retaining entrepreneurial talent in Cavan, and accelerating tech companies
Our Hot Desk and Corporate Meeting Room services are open to all industries via our online booking system, whilst our office suites are reserved for our ecosystem Members, where we foster entrepreneurship and nurture start -ups.
