Annagh Pink Swim raises over €1,500 for cancer charity

The annual Swim in Pink took place at Annagh Lake on Sunday, October 12, with swimmers and supporters travelling from near and far - including counties Tyrone and Meath - to take part.

With the beat of Belturbet’s own 'Mammoth Street Band' setting the rhythm, participants danced, dipped, and celebrated the opportunity to take the plunge to raise both awareness for breast cancer research and funds for important local charity, CUAN Cancer Care.

Pink is the colour associated with the month of October and used to raise awareness about the signs, symptoms, and risk factors of cancer.

Hosted by the Annagh Lake Dippers, they once again went above and beyond with a hearty sausage sizzle, delicious homemade cakes and bakes, and the finest outdoor tea and coffee. Despite the chill in the air, a warm and welcoming atmosphere was created for all.

Later, piano man Cormac McCann carried the festivities forward with live music on his keyboard.

Organisers have thanked those who took part and others who donated for their generosity and kind spirit of everyone involved.

Over €1,500 has been raised to date, with additional donations made online.
