Kingspan welcomes Kentucky Governor ahead of US expansion
Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear visted Kingspan’s global headquarters in Kingscourt last Thursday (October 17) in connection with a planned $61.2 million initial investment in a new 750,000-square-foot manufacturing facility across the Atlantic.
Tate, which is a subsidiary of the Kingspan Group, is leading the project.
Working closely with Governor Beshear’s administration, Tate and Kingspan announced they have advanced plans for the new manufacturing facility, which is expected to create an initial 200 jobs in Glasgow, Kentucky, expanding to 400 as the site scales to full capacity in the coming years.
The new facility will manufacture high performing thermal management and airflow solutions engineered to optimise efficiency in the data centres.
The investment aligns with Kingspan Group’s broader US growth strategy, with Cavan headquartered Kingspan set to invest $150 million in US capital expenditures in 2025 alone, following $50 million invested in 2024.
It represents a significant expansion of the firm's US operations, and underscores, the company says, its commitment to long-term growth in the region.
Tate currently employs more than 1,800 employees across 21 facilities globally; Kingspan Group PLC, meanwhile, has a global footprint that includes 273 facilities and more than 27,000 employees across 80 countries.“We are thrilled that Tate plans to make Glasgow their new Kentucky home with the largest job creation project we've seen in Barren County in almost 20 years,” said Gov Beshear thanking the leaders at Tate and Kingspan for choosing to invest in the commonwealth.
