Catherine Connolly visits the Breffni county
Presidential Candidate Catherine Connolly made several stops in Counties Cavan and Monaghan today where she was welcomed by many.
As she made her way towards the Cavan's town square, chants of 'from the river to the sea Palestine will be free' could be heard from the crowd of Palestinian supporters who had gathered there.
Ms Connolly shook hands and took photos with everybody before visiting the next stop on her busy campaign trail schedule.
Speaking to the Celt, Ms Connolly said people should vote for her as she is "different."
"It's a very important election and a choice has to be made," she said.
"Do we want more of the same or are we going to go with a different vision for the country?"
"I think based on my record I'm very different."
Secretary of the Cavan branch of the Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign Megan de Siún said she will be supporting Catherine as she has been "consistently anti-war, consistently pro-Palestine" and "pro-human rights."
Ms Connolly visited Cavan Institute, Cavan Courthouse, Teach Oscail Family Resource Centre, SOSAD’s offices and the Cavan branch of St Vincent de Paul.
Local candidate Heather Humphreys was in Cavan last week as she attended her former secondary school, St Aidan’s Comprehensive in Cootehill.
Voting for the Presidential Election 2025 opens this Friday, October 24.
