After a deserved break, Killann Choral Society, who first appeared as The Hard Times Choir, are gearing up for two performances.

Bailieboro choir returns with two concerts

Uplifting music and song have been promised for two performances of a concert titled 'Echoes of Autumn'.

Given it features the combined talents of Killann Choral Society and live band under the expertise and guidance of their Musical Director, Claire O’Reilly, it's sure to deliver.

The first performances took place last night (Thursday), October 23 at St. Anne’s Church, Bailieborough; with the next schedule for tomorrow night (Saturday), October 25 at The Church of the Immaculate Conception, Kingscourt with doors opening at 7.30pm and the concert beginning at 8pm.

Audiences can expect a wonderfully varied program, with music ranging from songs from musicals, classical favourites, traditional Irish tunes to classic pop and rock hits such as 'Isn’t She Lovely' and 'Bohemian Rhapsody'.

Special guests include the talented O’Sullivan Sisters String Trio — Aela, Siún, and Eavan (Coleman family), Kingscourt local, Emma Carolan, and, for the Saturday performance only, the much loved St. Mary’s Brass and Reed Band.

All proceeds from 'Echoes of Autumn' will go to the Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust, which provides essential support to families who experience the tragic loss of loved ones abroad.

Formerly known as Hardtimes Chorus, the group was originally formed in 2012 to raise funds for a town regeneration project. Due to their remarkable success and overwhelming community support, the group went on to perform numerous concerts, raising over €80,000 for a wide range of charities and causes — including Cancer Care, North East Down Syndrome, and many local families and individuals in need of assistance.

After taking a well-earned break in 2020, the group joyfully reformed last year under their new name, Killann Choral Society. Their passion for music, friendship, and giving back to the community continues to shine through in every performance.

Admission: €20 (payable at the door).

Join them for 'Echoes of Autumn' — a heartwarming evening celebrating music, community, and compassion, all in support of a truly meaningful cause.
