Hallowe'en at Loughcrew Estate
Under the shadow of the ancient Western Cairns, is where Samhain originated. When the sun breaks the horizion, it bathes Sliabh Rua in a red light before entering Cairn L and where it is then refracted on the Whispering Stone.
Today the Celtic Festival of the Dead is celebrated worldwide as Hallowe'en. And this year the Labryintine Loughcrew Estate opens its dastardly doors for little horrors. This is a chance to dress up and do the Loughcrew Trick or Treat Trail from Saturday to Wednesday, October 25-29 from 12 midday to 6pm each day. It's frightfully family friendly... with a little dash of fear. Earn your rewards from The Candy Man... when you find him... and beware of Vampirella and the creatures that lurk in the shadows. And don't forget to bring your Trick or Treat bags.
You can book now online at www.loughcrew.com and on the day at the box office at Loughcrew Gardens, Oldcastle, County Meath A82 X4Y1, 049 8541 356.
Fear makes you feel alive!
