Predeceased by his parents Josephine and David Calvert.

Sadly missed and remembered with love by his heartbroken family, his lifelong partner Christina, Daughters Anita (Mark), Noeleen (Seamus), Wendy (TJ) and Ciara (Thomas), his cherished grandchildren David, Kayleigh, Caoimhe, Teagan, Saoirse, Grace, Cillian and Meadbh, brothers Dave and Nicky, sisters Phyllis, Noreen, Tine, Rosie and Dympna, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and a large circle of friends.

Reposing at Mullen’s Funeral Home, Cootehill (H16 FD25) this Thursday evening from 4pm to 8pm. Removal leaving his home on Friday morning at 10.30am to arrive at Holy Trinity Church, Rockcorry (H16 XC82) for 11 o’clock funeral mass, followed by burial in adjoining cemetery.

House private to close family and friends and strictly private on Friday morning please.

The death has occurred of Mary Matthews (née Maguire)

Main Street, Virginia, Co. Cavan, and late of Drumscridian, Crosserlough, Co. Cavan, peacefully at home on the 28th of October 2025, following a short illness.

Predeceased by her husband Eamonn, her son Edmond, her grandson Ben, her brothers, and her parents.

Deeply regretted by her children Anne (John Gallagher), Concepta (Dermot O’Reilly), James (Mags), Edel (Neil Culliton), Joan (Alan Farrell), Rosie (Daithí Mahon) and Edmond’s partner Siobhan, her grandchildren, her brother Seamus, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours, and friends.

Reposing at Matthews Funeral Home, Bailieborough Road, Virginia (A82YV58) on Wednesday evening from 5 o’clock until prayers at 8 o’clock.

Removal on Thursday morning from her home arriving to Mary Immaculate Church, Virginia, for Funeral Mass at 11 o’clock, with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

House private, please.

Arlene Finnegan

The death has occurred of Arlene Finnegan, Stockton on Tees, Durham, England and formerly 22 Rock Daniel Road, Carrickmacross, Monaghan on Wednesday 17th September, suddenly after a short illness at University Hospital of North Tees, surrounded by her loving family.

Arlene will be always remembered and loved by her family, her beloved Jon, her sons Jack and Dan, her mother Mary Finnegan (née Costello - Rock Daniel Rd Carrickmacross), her brothers Stephen (Cork) and Peter (Carrickmacross), her father Peadar Finnegan (Drumgowna), her aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, many friends and neighbours both in Monaghan and England.

A memorial mass commemorating the life of Arlene will be celebrated on Saturday 1st November 2025 at 11am in St Joseph’s Church, Carrickmacross with Private Interment of Ashes afterwards in St. Joseph's Cemetery.

Sherry Gerard, Drumbern, Killybrone, Co Monaghan, H18 DE22. October 27th 2025, peacefully at Cavan General Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Pre-deceased by his beloved wife May, daughter Siobhan, parents Patrick and Catherine, brothers Brian, Desmond and Sean. Gerard will be sadly missed by his sons and daughters, Martin, Mary, Vincent (Briege), Kieran (Aisling), Lorna (Philip), Catherine, Seline (Anthony), his adored grandchildren, great grandchildren and his sisters Josie and Claire (Wills).

Reposing at his late residence until removal on Thursday at 10.45am for 11am Requiem Mass in St Patrick’s Church, Clara interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Sacred Heart of Jesus have mercy on his soul.

Pre-deceased by his parents Bernard & Teresa and his brother Finbar in infancy.

Mackey will be sadly missed by his heartbroken family; wife Ethna, sons Rory (Bronagh), Ryan (Siobhan) & Aaron (Sally), daughters Louise, Claire (Paul) & Shauna (Niall), grandchildren James, Tom, Anna, Eoghan, Lily, Maisy, Kayla, Callum, Padraig, Conor, Roíse & Caoimhe, sisters Maura (Hugo RIP), Ann (Michael), Gabrielle (Terry) & Eilish, brothers Genie (Maureen), Gerard (Philomena), Brian (Maureen), Peter, Ciaran (Pauline) & Aidan (Liz), nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Mackey’s remains will repose at his home on Wednesday from 2pm - 9pm and Thursday from 2pm - 9pm. House private to family and friends Friday morning please.

Funeral Mass on Friday morning at 11am at The Sacred Heart Church, Carrickroe. Burial afterwards at The Church of the Holy Family cemetery, Ballyoisin.

Family flowers only please, donations in lieu if desired to Ballyoisin Church Restoration Fund, c/o Peter McMahon, McMahons Funeral Home, Emyvale or any family member.

Patricia Tully

2 Cathedral View, Monaghan Town, Monaghan

Patricia passed away peacefully on Saturday 25th October . She was predeceased by her father Matthew, her mother Margaret, brothers Barry and Colm and Sister Maeve and her lifelong friend Patsy Mc Ardle. Patricia will be sadly missed by her nephew and nieces, her wider family circle, her many close friends and neighbours.

Patricia will repose at McMahon's Funeral Home, Mullan Road, Emyvale, from 5pm to 7pm on Thursday 30th October . Patricia's Requiem Mass will take place at 11am in St Macartan's Cathedral, Monaghan, Friday 31st October with burial afterwards in Calvary Cemetery, Latlurcan.
