Science Festival STEAMs ahead!
The 10th edition of the award-winning Cavan Monaghan Science Festival continues this week with more STEAM-inspired fun for all ages. The award-winning festival, jointly organised by Cavan County Council and Monaghan County Council, with support from Taighde Éireann – Research Ireland, runs until Saturday, November 15.
Audiences can enjoy fascinating talks such as, ‘Midlife in the Fast Lane’ a talk on how menopause and perimenopause intersect with today’s fast paced world at Ballyconnell Market House, a laser-cutting workshop in Bailieborough Library, and ‘Scientific Advances of the First World War’ at Cavan County Museum. Other events sure to have a wide appeal include a talk on ‘Eating Through the Ages’ at Virginia Library, and ‘Still Me’ at Johnston Central Library, Cavan with Dr Sabina Brennan, who will share practical insights to help persons with dementia and their families to live better with the condition.
County Librarian Emma Clancy said: “We have already had some outstanding highlights at this year’s festival and there are plenty of engaging and exciting events still to come as we celebrate ten years of this award-winning festival. We’ve had great turn outs so far, and I hope the people of Cavan will continue to show up this week for inspiring talks on everything from hormonal health to artificial intelligence.”
