Cavan learn first-round opponents in 2026 Ulster SFC

Breaking

The draw for the 2026 Ulster Senior Football Championship, which took place this evening, has pitted Cavan against Monaghan once again in a quarter-final.

The winners of that match will meet the winners of Derry and Antrim in the semi-final.

In the bottom half of the draw, Armagh face Tyrone in a tasty preliminary round tie, with Fermanagh lying in wait.

The other quarter-final sees Donegal meet Down.

The 2026 'Drumlin Clasico' will be the seventh championship meetings between the sides in 14 seasons. Monaghan won in 2013, 2015 and 2017 (by a point, a point and a goal) and Cavan were victorious in 2019, 2020 and 2024 (four, a point AET and eight).

Prior to that, the sides had not clashed in 12 years, back to 2001.
