CCTV stepped up in Monaghan Town

Monaghan Town has officially launched its new CCTV Scheme, billed as a major step towards strengthening public safety and supporting crime prevention.

A total of 43 CCTV cameras have been installed across 17 strategic locations.

The scheme was developed in partnership with An Garda Síochána and Monaghan County Council with the stated aims to deter crime and anti-social behaviour; assist investigations and create a safer environment for residents, businesses, and visitors.

"The scheme reflects our commitment to building safe, inclusive, and vibrant communities, boosting confidence and encouraging economic activity in the town centre," said a spokesperson for Monaghan Gardaí. "Together, we’re making Monaghan Town safer for everyone."
