Glaslough farm sells for €1.8M

A prime residential farm in the Glaslough area has sold for a record €1.8M.

The property, handled by Fee & Associations, is located at Annareagh and included 60 acres of prime agricultural land. It was sold by private treaty in one lot.

The average price achieved for the lot worked out at €30,000 an acre.

Auctioneer Raymond Fee said he wasn't surprised at the "exceptional result" given the quality of the land and the substantial interest it drew from the region and beyond.

"Originally brought to the market on behalf of the Reps of Hugh Conway (deceased), this exceptional estate captured the attention of farmers, investors, and developers alike.

Its combination of scale, location, and heritage made it a rare and highly sought-after opportunity," Mr Fee told the Celt.

The land is positioned just off the N12 Monaghan–Armagh Road and held within Folios MN9281 & MN9268.

The estate offered both excellent accessibility and a peaceful rural setting.

"The lands, laid out in generous, well-maintained divisions, are widely regarded as among the most fertile and productive in the county — ideally suited to both tillage and grazing," said Mr Fee.

"Interest in quality Monaghan farmland has remained consistently strong, and this farm proved no exception," he continued.

“Properties of this calibre rarely come to the market. The depth of enquiry and level of demand reflected not only the quality of the holding, but also the confidence in the local land market.

We are delighted to have achieved such a successful outcome for our client," said Mr Fee.

This sale marks another notable achievement for Fee & Associates, reaffirming its position as one of the leading expert land agents in the region.
