The late Kitty McGauran, Belturbet. RIP.

Kitty McGauran (née Cusack), 5 Holborn Hill, Belturbet, Co. Cavan and formerly Shankhill, Killygarry in her 102nd year. 4th January 2026, peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her husband Charlie.

Deeply regretted and sadly missed by her loving family, daughters, Marie (Denis O' Shaughnessy) and Angela. Son Fintan (Mary) Clontarf, grandchildren Cian, Maebh, Sinéad, James, Kate, David and Joey. Great-grandchildren Síofra, Iarlaith, Donnacha, Eoin and Conall Óg, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Kitty will be reposing at her residence on Monday evening from 4pm until evening prayers at 8pm. Funeral Mass on Tuesday 6th January at 12 noon in the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Belturbet with burial afterwards in Drumlane cemetery.

(née Brady)

Tierlahood, Stradone, Cavan

Peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family in her 101st year. Predeceased by her husband Kevin, brother John and sisters Sadie, Philomena and Rita.

Deeply regretted by her loving family Mary (Sean), Geraldine (Vincent), Albert (Patricia), Norbert (Geraldine), Tom (Mary), Teresa, Pat (Mary) and John (Rose Marie). Sadly missed by her sister Teresa McConnell (Cavan), and her adoring grandchildren and great grandchildren, by her sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbours, relatives and friends.

Reposing in St. Michael’s Church, Clifferna H12 YA39 tomorrow Sunday from 3pm concluding with prayers at 5pm. Removal on Monday to arrive at St. Michael’s Church, Clifferna for Funeral Mass at 12noon followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery. House private to family, friends and close neighbours. Family flowers only please, donations in lieu of flowers to Cavan Palliative Care, in care of PJ Brady, Funeral Director.

The death has occurred of Teresa Leddy (nee Liggan), Crocknahattina Bailieborough on January 3rd, 2026 peacefully at home with her family by her side. Predeceased by her husband Tommy, brother PJ and granddaughter Megan.

Teresa will be sadly missed by her family, daughters Ann and Marion (Fodil), sons Owen (Mary), Martin, Kieran (Avril) and Felim. Grandchildren, Danielle, Rebecca, Rory, Grace, Dáire, Gary, Michael, Yasmine, Adel, Amel, Zainab and Younes, sisters Roisin Brady, Betty Olwell, Sheila Heerey, brothers Phil, Tom, Jim and Aidan, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and a wide circle of friends.

Reposing at Clarke's Funeral Home, Bailieborough on Monday 5th from 5pm to 8pm. Removal from her residence on Tuesday 6th to arrive at St. Anne's Church, Bailieborough for Funeral Mass at 10:15am. Burial afterwards in St. Anne's Cemetery.

(née Brady)

Drumheel, Ballinagh, Cavan

The death has occurred of Bridget McCabe (née Brady), Drumheel, Ballinagh, Co Cavan, peacefully at her home in the loving care of her family, on Friday 2nd January 2026 in her 93rd year.

Beloved wife of the late John Andy. Predeceased by her parents Patrick and Susan Brady. Bridget will be forever loved and sadly missed by her loving family; Padraig, Michael, Siobhan and Breda, daughters in law, son in law, sadly missed by her thirteen adored grandchildren and her two cherished great grandchildren, her cousins extended family, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at her home in Drumheel on Sunday 4th January from 12noon to 4pm for family, neighbours and close friends. Reposing in Lakelands Funeral Home, Dublin Road, Cavan on Monday 5th January from 5pm to 8pm.

Requiem Mass on Tuesday 6th January in St Felim's Church, Ballinagh at 11.00am, with interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

The McCabe Family wish to acknowledge the wonderful care that Mam received from all her carers in her home.

The death has occurred of Francis McConnon. Killanny, Carrickmacross. 4th January 2026. Peacefully, surrounded by his cherished family, at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda.

Predeceased by his parents Patrick & Maryann, his brothers Gerard & Jim and his infant sister Margaret.

Sadly missed and remembered with love by his beloved family; his wife Betty, his children; Adrian, Janet (Andrew), Douglas, Rory (Lynda), Elizabeth (John) & Maria, his much-loved grandchildren; Mani, Erin, Arlen, Darragh, Drusilla, Shay & Clara, his sister Annamena and his brother PJ, his extended family, neighbours & friends.

Francis' funeral cortège will leave his home on Thursday, 8th January, proceeding to St. Enda's Church, Killanny, arriving for Funeral Mass at 11am followed by burial in the adjoining Cemetery.

Toal, Charlie (Blackrock, Co. Dublin and formerly of Smithboro, Co. Monaghan) 2nd January 2026. Peacefully, in Naas General Hospital and previously in the wonderful care of the Larchfield Park Nursing Home. Beloved husband of the late Tricia and loving father of Andrew and Elaine, cherished grand-dad of Caoimhe, Rhys and Ciara, father-in-law to Vera and Tony. Sadly missed by his many nieces and nephews, godchildren, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Charlie will be reposing on Tuesday 6th January from 6pm to 8pm in Fanagans Carnegies Funeral Home, Monkstown, A94 XK28. Funeral Mass on Wednesday 7th January at 10am in St. John the Baptist Church, Blackrock, A94YP08 followed by burial in Shanganagh Cemetery.
