Cavan town fire 'under control'

A fire which took place at a property on the R212 Broad Road in Cavan town this morning has been brought "under control" according to a spokesperson from Cavan County fire service.

Fire services from Cavan town attended the fire and were backed up by the Belturbet brigade and a breathing apparatus team.

The fire, which took place in the basement area of the property, was "quickly" brought "under control" by the fire services.

"The building was unoccupied," the spokesperson stated.
