Gardaí probe late-night attack on Cootehill home

Investigations are “ongoing”, say gardaí.

Gardaí are investigating a late-night incident of criminal damage at a property in Cootehill

A house and two vehicles parked in the driveway outside the property in the Dartry Park area were vandalised shortly before midnight.

The incident was reported at approximately 11.50pm on Monday, January 6, when it was discovered that multiple windows had been smashed during the alleged attack.

No injuries have been reported.

A spokesperson for An Garda Siochana confirmed: “Gardaí received a report of criminal damage to a house and two vehicles parked in the driveway in Cootheill, Co Cavan, at around 11:50pm on 6th January 2026.”

They added that investigations are “ongoing”.
