Super news for Carrick

A new Garda Superintendent has been assigned to Carrickmacross.

Superintendent Gavin Scott has been transferred to Carrickmacross Garda Station with responsibility for the Louth/Cavan/Monaghan Performance Assurance Functional Area.

Carrickmacross Garda Station serves the Louth/Cavan/Monaghan Garda Division in that role under the Garda Operating Model contained within the report of the Commission on the Future of Policing in Ireland.

In 2023, Supt Scott was promoted to the Strategic Transformation Office within the force.

Prior to that, as Sergeant, he worked within the Information and Communication Technologies section of An Garda Síochána.

The allocations will take effect from January 6.

Supt Scott's move is one of more than two dozen transfers announced on Tuesday last.

Elsewhere in the region Superintendent Ann Marie Lardner from Monaghan is to transfer to Balbriggan Garda Station with responsibility for the Balbriggan Community Engagement Functional Area, DMR North Garda Division.

She previously worked as head of the Cavan-Monaghan Divisional Community Engagement Unit, and as a Detective Sergeant in Bailieborough.

Superintendent Carla Curry, meanwhile, has been moved on promotion to Carrick-on-Shannon Garda Station with responsibility for the Leitrim Community Engagement Functional Area, Sligo/Leitrim Garda Division.
