Homes and businesses without power in Cavan Monaghan

A number of ESB customers are without power this morning in Cavan and Monaghan due to Storm Chandra.

In Cavan there are over 1700 hundred customers without power, meanwhile in Monaghan around 200 are out in Castleblayney.

The largest number of customers affected are in Cootehill, while some faults in Bailiebrough, Shercock, Cavan town and Castleblayney have already been restored according to ESB's PowerCeck website.

Restore times vary, however some could be without power until after 9pm tonight.

Ireland is being hit by strong winds and heavy rain as Storm Chandra hits, with fears for flooding in already saturated areas.The entire country came under a status yellow wind warning this morning at 3am and it doesn't expire until 11pm tonight.
