Two arrested after six-figure drugs haul in Cavan

Cannabis and cocaine seized in major Garda operation

Two people are in custody tonight following a major drugs bust in Cavan that uncovered cannabis worth well over six figures and tens of thousands of euro worth of cocaine also.

The seizure came after gardaí intercepted a vehicle travelling in the Cavan Town area earlier today. A search of the vehicle led officers to the discovery of a substantial quantity of cannabis, and triggered a follow-up search operation at a nearby property in the county town.

During the subsequent raid, gardaí uncovered further quantities of cannabis along with a significant amount of cocaine.

A man and a woman, both believed to be in their 40s, have been arrested, and are currently being detained for questioning at a Garda station in the Louth-Cavan-Monaghan Division.

The total estimated street value of the cannabis exceeds €100,000, while the cocaine is valued at more than €50,000. Investigations are ongoing.
