Community mourns death of young Jarrah
Funeral Mass to take place Thursday at St Michael’s Church
The death of Cootehill teenager Jarrah Folkman has been met with widespread sadness.
Jarrah, aged 14, passed away peacefully at his home at Jarria House, Donge, Cootehill, on Monday, February 2, surrounded by his loving family. He is deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his heartbroken parents, family members and many friends who were the centre of the young man's world.
Jarrah became a source of inspiration for many nationwide through his dad Ben, who in 2016, travelled the length and breadth of Ireland, playing music in all 32 counties in just seven days to raise funds towards his son's care.
Jarrah will repose at his home later today (Wednesday) from 4pm to 8pm, with funeral Mass taking place on Thursday at St Michael’s Church, Cootehill, followed by burial in St Michael’s Cemetery.
For anyone visiting the family home on Wednesday afternoon, please use the car park at St Aidan’s Comprehensive School, there will be a shuttle bus in operation.
House Private at all other times.
Family flowers only have been requested, with donations in Jarrah’s memory going to the Jack and Jill Foundation.
