Cancer mobile information unit visits Monaghan Town
Unit will be at the front of the Monaghan Town Courthouse on tomorrow, Wednesday, February 11, from 11am-1.30pm.
Monaghan Women’s Assembly have organised for the Marie Keating Mobile Information Unit to come to Monaghan Town. This service is free of charge and both men and welcome are welcome to attend!
The Marie Keating Foundation’s mobile information unit will be at the front of the Monaghan Town Courthouse on tomorrow, Wednesday, February 11, from 11am-1.30pm.
Councillor Sinéad Flynn, Chairperson of Monaghan Women’s Assembly, said: “I encourage everyone to pop into the mobile unit. It’s great to have this service here in Monaghan Town for the day, and I would urge anyone with a question or concern—whether for themselves or a family member—to call in and speak confidentially with the qualified nurse on duty. Early detection is vital in reducing cancer risk, and this is a valuable opportunity to get trusted, free advice.”
The Marie Keating Foundation’s work focuses on raising awareness of all of the common cancers affecting men and women in Ireland and the healthy lifestyle choices that reduce the risk of cancer.
Staffed by a specialist nurse, the mobile information units are stocked with take-home information leaflets and packs on the various cancers.
The Marie Keating Foundation nurses can talk to people in a private area on board the unit about any concerns that they may have about cancer.
