Kingspan strikes deal on Century Homes facility

Kingspan is poised to reshape its presence in the timber-frame housing market after striking a deal with Northern Ireland's FastHouse for its Monaghan-based Century timber-frame division.

Contrary to reports suggesting Kingspan Century was to be sold outright, the Cavan-headquartered giant will step back from full ownership, and instead take a more passive, minority stake in the larger, combined business.

A modular construction company based in Limavady, FastHouse was established in 2017 and is owned by Kevin Lagan, of the Northern Irish construction family.

Insiders have described the move as a strategic realignment rather than an exit from the timber-frame housing business, allowing Kingspan to remain invested while still sharing in the growth with a complementary partner.

FastHouse is seen as highly complementary to Kingspan Century's existing model, with both operating in adjacent parts of the off-site construction and housing supply chain.

A spokesman for Kingspan declined to comment, citing the ongoing Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) approval process.
