Local Enterprise Week programme launched across Monaghan
Full week of free events supporting business growth
The Local Enterprise Office in Monaghan has announced the programme for Local Enterprise Week 2026, which will take place from Monday to Friday, March 2-6. The week-long initiative features a diverse schedule of free events designed to support local entrepreneurs, start‑ups, and established businesses. With a strong focus on collaboration, digital innovation, women in business, and future‑focused skills, this year’s programme aims to empower Monaghan’s business community and showcase the resources available to help them grow and thrive.
The week will officially begin on Monday, March 2, with the flagship event ‘Advancing Manufacturing & Engineering Through Collaboration’. This session is tailored for businesses in the manufacturing and engineering sectors and will explore opportunities for shared innovation, sectoral development, and learning through collaboration. Industry experts and local stakeholders will provide insights into how collaboration can strengthen the sector and stimulate growth across the region.
To support young entrepreneurs and encourage new business start‑up initiatives, the Local Enterprise Office team will be in attendance at the Monaghan Institute Open Day on Tuesday, March 3, from 10am to 6pm. Staff will be available throughout the day to offer guidance, answer questions, and provide information on the wide range of supports available to emerging entrepreneurs.
On Wednesday, March 4, the Local Enterprise Office will host the Grow Digital Breakfast Morning, an event dedicated to helping SMEs understand and access digital funding supports. Participants will learn how improved digital systems and technologies can enhance productivity, streamline processes, and boost competitiveness. The morning aims to give business owners practical guidance on driving digital transformation within their organisations.
International Women's Day
To mark International Women’s Day, a special event titled Empowering Women will take place on Friday, March 6. The session will feature guest speaker Breda McCague, known for her expertise in leadership development, transformation, and resilience. Breda will share motivational insights designed to inspire confidence, ambition, and business development skills among women in enterprise. This event promises to be an energising and uplifting finale to the week’s flagship line‑up.
In addition to these key events, a series of hands‑on workshops will run throughout the week in partnership with the Mobile Mini Digital Hub project. These free workshops will introduce businesses to emerging technologies and digital tools through practical, interactive learning. Topics include Podcasting for Business, VR Capabilities and Applications, AI for Tourism, and Advanced Cybersecurity. Each workshop is designed to help businesses build future‑focused skills and understand how new technologies can support growth and innovation.
