Snow and rain warning for Cavan

A status yellow rain / snow warning has been issued for Cavan today.

The entire country is under a status yellow ice warning until 10am this morning.

Sharp frost and icy conditions prevail this morning, and Met Eireann have listed potential impacts as hazardous travel conditions on road and underfoot and travel disruption

Meanwhile, a status yellow rain / snow warning has been issued for Cavan today.

Rain which will be heavy at times and turning to sleet or snow together with strengthening winds. Conditions will lead to the difficult travel conditions and poor visibility, Met Eireann have warned.

The warning is valid from midday today until midnight tonight.

Rather windy with rain early tonight, along with falls of sleet and snow for a time.

Fresh to strong and gusty southerly winds will ease mostly light to moderate southwesterly as clear spells and scattered showers follow from the west.

Some fog patches will form too. Lowest temperatures of 0 to 4 degrees.

Scattered blustery showers tomorrow with some longer spells of rain for a time.

The showers will be heavy at times with hail, isolated thunderstorms and spot flooding all possible.

Turning breezy as well with moderate to fresh and gusty southwest to west winds developing.

The best of the sunny spells will be in the afternoon. Highest temperatures of 6 to 8 or 9 degrees.
