A night of hilarity awaits in Carnaross
This February Carnaross drama group are staging Darling Mr London a hilarious comedy by Anthony Marriott and Bob Grant. The farce runs for six shows over two weekends: Friday to Sunday, February 13-15; and Friday to Sunday, February 20-22.
It tells the story of Edward Hawkins (John McKenna) who works in the local telephone exchange. After a day’s work he returns home to his wife Rose (Gabrielle Harte) and re-enacts old war scenes with his toy soldiers. The local curate Mark Thompson (Peter Farrelly/Sean Skelly) is a lodger in their home.
Edward’s supervisor is his brother-in-law Gordon Routledge and he and his mother-in-law (Anne Marie Brogan/Cosette Olohan) are frequent visitors to their home.
When Gordon decides to run a Miss Europhone contest Edward decides to talk flirtatiously with a number of the contestants. Four of the ladies, Monique, Miss Paris (Naoise Reilly), Sylvana, Miss Rome (Gillian Brogan), Ingrid, Miss Highlands (Charis McMullen), and Snowdrop, Miss Oslo (Joanne Muldoon) turn up at Edward’s home and much hilarity ensues.
The show runs on Friday through to Sunday, February 13-15 and 20-22 at 8pm each night. Tickets are €18 and the booking office no is: 087 770 3818.
