Jimmy Mason

The Crescent, Castleblayney, Monaghan

The death has occurred of Jimmy Mason, The Crescent, Castleblayney, Co. Monaghan, Saturday 14th February 2026 surrounded by his loving family.

Predeceased by his parents Elizabeth and Patsy, brothers, Liam, Sean and Brendan, and his sister Anna.

Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his brother, Patsy, sisters Rose, Betty, Margaret and Patricia, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, extended family and wide circle of friends.

Jimmy will repose at his sister Patricia’s home in Killycard A75 YW11 on Sunday from 2pm to 8pm and on Monday from 2pm to 8pm.

Removal on Tuesday morning at 10:15am, walking from The Railway Gates via Church Street, arriving to St. Mary’s Church, Castleblayney for requiem mass at 11 am, continuing on afterwards for cremation in Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan.

We are saddened to announce the death of May McMahon née Lavery, Preston, England & formerly Lenagh, Emyvale. Saturday 14th February, peacefully, surrounded by her daughter Mary & son in law Mike.

Predeceased by her husband Ted, brother Paddy and her nephew Darren Lavery.

May will be sadly missed by her daughter Mary, son Gerard & their families, the Lavery family, Lenagh, the McMahon family Killycooley, Emyvale and many friends.

May May’s gentle soul Rest in Peace.

We are saddened to announce the death of Rita McPhillips née Hughes, Rakeeragh, Monaghan and formerly of Legacurry, Saturday 14th Feb, peacefully at home in the loving care of her adoring family.

Pre-deceased by her husband Patrick, her sister Kathleen and brother Jim.

Rita will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her heartbroken family, son Niall (Annmarie), daughters Eileen (Frank), Gillian (Vincent), Una (Ultan), Denise (Cathal). Her cherished grandchildren Mark, Jamie, Sherell, Darrin, Patrick, Orla, Molly, Aaron, Tom and Ryan, and her great grandchildren, Jack, Conor & Katie. Her sister Joan McQuaid, her Sister-in-law Rose McMullen, Mary Brennan and all Rita's nieces, nephews, extended family, wonderful neighbours, friends and Rita's amazing carers who provided such wonderful care, the Alzheimers Society, Cavan/Monaghan Palliative care and Bernie Boyle who have all been an outstanding support.

(Parsons Green, London & Coolshannagh Rd, Monaghan)

peacefully on 10 February 2025, surrounded by his heartbroken family, in Charing Cross Hospital, London, after a short illness with cancer.

Youngest son of the late Pádraig & Geraldine; sadly missed by his heartbroken sisters & brothers - Bríd, Máire, Séamus, Caoimhe, Nuala (deceased), and Liam; adored nieces & nephews - Muireann, Donnchadh, Rioghnach, Aoife, Séimidh, Niamh, Billy, Sinéad and Aisling; sisters-in-law Maura & Margaret and brothers-in-law Tom & Pat (deceased) and Liam G; his wide circle of relations, neighbours and cherished friends in London, Monaghan and around the world.

He left us too soon aged 49, and he will be sorely missed.

Peadar’s wake will be held in Coolshannagh Rd, Monaghan (H18 E680).
