Early sunshine before showers spread
Rainfall totals are not expected to be as intense as Saturday’s downpours
Monday is set to begin on a largely dry and bright note, offering a brief respite from the recent run of showery weather. Early sunshine in many areas will make for a pleasant start to the day, though this will not last for everyone.
Cloud will steadily thicken from the southwest through the morning, signalling the approach of another band of unsettled weather. Outbreaks of rain and drizzle will spread northeastwards during the afternoon, gradually turning conditions grey and damp once more.
While rainfall totals are not expected to be as intense as Saturday’s downpours, persistent light to moderate rain may set in across several regions by evening.
Temperatures will again remain mild, reaching highs of 10 to 12 degrees in moderate to fresh southwesterly winds.
The broader outlook suggests the unsettled pattern will continue into Tuesday, with further cloud and outbreaks of rain or drizzle expected, accompanied by southerly winds and temperatures holding between 10 and 13 degrees.
