Woman (40s) arrested after €200k of cannabis seized in Co Cork

A woman has been arrested after €200,000 of cannabis was seized following the search of a car in Cork.

In an operation in conjunction with gardaí from the Eastern Region, a car was stopped and searched at Glanmire.

10 kilos of cannabis, with an estimated street value of €200,000, was seized, and a woman aged in her 40s was arrested.

She was detained at a Garda station in the Southern Region under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.

She was subsequently charged and is scheduled to appear before Cork District Court on Monday.

The seized drugs will be sent to Forensic Science Ireland for analysis.

Gardaí say investigations are ongoing.
