Rape Crisis Centre moves to a more central location for its clients

Residents from Cavan and Monaghan are set to benefit from the services of a dedicated new rape crisis centre in the region.

The Cavan Rape Crisis Centre is re-locating to a new dedicated space in Ballyjamesduff. The team have moved from Cavan Town to their new premises on Anne Street.

And, as before, the service is also open and available to people from County Monaghan.

A spokesperson for Cavan Rape Crisis Centre said the team chose Ballyjamesduff as its new location for its easy access for people from many parts of Cavan and Monaghan, and the regular public transport to and from Ballyjamesduff.

Cavan Rape Crisis Centre “provides a safe, free, confidential space for survivors of child sexual abuse, rape and sexual assault. It is a place where adults and young people, male and female, affected by sexual violence, can access support and counselling in a safe environment.”

The official opening of the new Cavan centre will take place on April 17.

Anyone who would like more information on Cavan Rape Crisis Centre services can log on to the SRCC website or call 1800 750 780.

The message is, as always, “We will believe you.”
