Therapeutic supports for children and families
Based outside Kingscourt, Co Cavan, Well-Ora is a multidisciplinary counselling, psychotherapy, and mediation practice founded by Joanne Barry, MA. They support children (from six years of age), adolescents, adults, and families across Counties Cavan, Monaghan, and the wider region.
Offering unique, actionable solutions for individuals, families, and organisations, Joanne and her team follow a holistic approach by integrating emotional and physical wellbeing.
Joanne is a qualified Child & Adolescent and Integrative Psychotherapist with advanced training in trauma-informed practice and mediation. Her work focuses on supporting clients through anxiety, depression, emotional regulation, sexual abuse, grief, and complex life adversities using structured, developmentally informed therapeutic support.
Well-Ora also provides specialised mediation and conflict resolution services. Designed to facilitate respectful conversations during periods of transition and dispute, Well-Ora's expertise includes supporting separating couples, child-inclusive mediation, farm succession planning, and restorative justice approaches.
To improve accessibility to mental health supports, Joanne developed 'Following in the Footsteps of Friends', a school-based transition programme. This initiative supports children moving from primary to secondary education by focusing on peer connection and emotional preparation.
As a collaborative practice, the Well-Ora team continues to expand: Darragh King is an Humanistic and Integrative Therapist, with additional training and experience in addiction and recovery and Nichola Fannin is an Adolescent and Integrative Therapist.
"Together, we provide coordinated support across all developmental stages. Additionally, we offer group programmes such as 'Confidence & Connection' for youth resilience, as well as corporate wellness days, mental health talks, and professional training," Joanne says.
As a Licensed Menopause Champion, Joanne also delivers menopause awareness support to help organisations better serve women in the workplace.
Well-Ora's vision is to empower individuals, families, and organisations to overcome challenges with compassion and clarity. "Our holistic, client-centred approach ensures that mental health support is accessible and responsive, wherever you are on your journey."
