Plans lodged for 55 new houses in Cavan Town

A LIMERICK-based construction company has applied for planning permission for 55 new homes on the outskirts of Cavan Town.

Last month, South of Ireland Crushing Ltd applied to Cavan County Council for planning for the new development which, if approved, will see the construction of 12 two-bed, semi-detached properties; one detached two-bed house; six four-bed semis and six four-bedroom semi-detached bungalows.

The proposed development is located on 3.19 hectares south of Fort Village and north of Willow Ridge at Gortnakesh in Cavan Town.

The plans also provide for 97 parking spaces and include retaining walls, open public spaces, and landscaping.

A decision on the project is expected on April 7.
