Beloved daughter of Ann and the late Jimmie and loving sister of Tommie, Nan and Mary.

Rosaleen Cronin (née Mc Cabe), Derrin, Kilnaleck, Co Cavan. Saturday, March 7 peacefully at Cavan General Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Pre-deceased by her beloved daughter Olivia, sister Kitty Smith, her parents Paddy and Annie McCabe.
Beloved wife of Michael and devoted mother of Dermot (Siobhan), Killian (Joanne), Breda (Ciarán), Michelle (Noel), her adored 10 grandchildren, sister Eileen (Patsy Galligan), brother Tom (Anna) and brother-in-law Jimmy Smith, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, neighbours, relatives, and wide circle of friends.
Reposing at Briody’s Funeral Home, Kilnaleck (A82 DX59), Cavan, today, Sunday, March 8 from 4pm until 7pm. Removal from her home on Tuesday at 11:30am to St Joseph's Church, Drumkilly (A82 V049), to arrive for Requiem Mass at 12 noon, with interment afterwards in adjoining Cemetery.

Anna Mary Smith of Lisnalea, Bailieborough, Co, Cavan (formerly of Corodoagh for 8 decades) died peacefully in her home on Friday, March 6, 2026, wonderfully attended to by caregivers, Maria Fe Durian, the Cavan-Monaghan care givers & palliative team, Dr. Forbes & previously, Dr. Cronin, cousins - Paul Brennan and Anna Reilly & many kind friends and neighbours.
She is the cherished sister of brothers - Paddy (Eileen), Jemmy, Benny (Una), sisters- Katie, Rose and Maggie Smith and beloved daughter of Annie (nee Clarke) & Phil Smith, all of whom have preceded her in death. She will be dearly missed by her nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great nephews, extended family, friends and neighbours.
Reposing at Clarke’s Funeral Home, Bailieborough today, Sunday, March 8 from 6pm - 8pm and also on Monday, March 9 from 3:30pm - 5:30pm.
Removal at 5:45pm to arrive at St. Anne's Church, Bailieborough at 6pm. Requiem Mass on Tuesday morning at 11 o'clock.

Sr Rita Shalvey, Missionary sisters of the Holy Rosary and formerly of Cootehill, Co. Cavan 5th March 2026, peacefully in the loving care of St. Francis’ Hospice Blanchardstown.
Predeceased by her parents Charles and Bridget, her brothers Joe, Austin, Tony, Victor, Brendan, Vince, Jim and Leo, sisters Mairin and Aggie. Deeply regretted by her Holy Rosary Sisters, sister-in-law Phyllis, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, great grandnieces and great grandnephews. Rest in Peace.
Reposing at Brookville, Westpark, Artane, (DO5 X3V6) on Monday, March 9 at 2:30pm followed by Evening Prayer at 5pm.

John (Jack) Stafford Williamson, Springholm, Castle Douglas, Scotland and late of Billis and New Inns, Virginia, Co Cavan passed away peacefully on the 6th March 2026 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Predeceased by his parents Samuel and Elizabeth, brother Harry and sister Lorna.
Beloved husband of Nora (nee Shekleton) and adored Dad to Karen, Robert, Yvonne, Stephen and Andrea, grandchildren, great grandchildren, sisters Violet, Ann and Iris, extended family and friends.

John O’Neill, Hammersmith, London, UK, and formerly of Carrickmore, Ballyhaise, Co. Cavan, who passed away peacefully on 26th February 2026.
Predeceased by his parents James and Mary O’Neill, and his brothers Patrick and Andrew (Joan).
John will be deeply regretted and sadly missed by his brothers Jimmy (Chrissie R.I.P.), Ballyhaise, and Brendan (Carol Ann), Canada, his sister Maureen, Cavan, sister-in-law Barbara, Canada, and his nieces and nephews in Ireland and Canada: Shane, Ciaran, Mary, Irene, Jane, Andrea, Teresa, Rachel, James, Katelyn, Seán, Jennifer and Brendan Jr., as well as extended family and friends.
Special recognition and sincere thanks to cousins Teresa Rowe (Martin) and Terence O’Neill, Portsmouth, UK, who were nearby to give their kind support and assistance to John, particularly during his final illness in Hammersmith.
Heartfelt thanks also to Marie, regarded by the family as an exemplary friend and devoted carer to John for many years, assisting him with cooking, cleaning, shopping and daily errands when he was unable.
The family would also like to acknowledge with gratitude John’s medical team and the palliative care workers for their dedicated care.

In the early hours of Friday, March 6, 2026, Pat died peacefully in the comfort of his home, with his loving family by his side.
Loving husband of Damhnait, and father to Caoimhe, Ros, Tríona and Brian. He will be dearly missed by his devoted wife and family. Mourned and very sadly missed also by his sister Colette, daughters-in-law Liv and Rosie, son-in-law John and granddaughters Aisling, Eimear, Róisín and Liana, who he loved and cherished dearly, by his extended family, neighbours and many friends.
Pre-deceased by his daughter Caoimhe and her son Oscar, his parents Andrew and Margaret and by his siblings Seamus, Carmel, Tom, Frances and Jacinta.

James (Jimmy) Cassidy, Drummons, Scotstown, Co Monaghan, Friday, March 6, peacefully surrounded by his loving family in the excellent care of the staff in Cavan General Hospital.
Predeceased by his daughter Maggie (Coster) his brothers and sisters, Laurence, Anna (Higgins), Pete, Phill, Sheila (Carrol), Ownie and Jack.
Jimmy will be forever loved and cherished by his wife Mary, his children Gerry (Patricia), Mary (Willie Smyth), Jim (Caroline), Michelle (Declan Mulligan), John (Eimear), Philip (Annie) and his son-in-law David Coster his cherished and adored 17 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, his sisters Madge (Dunne), Rose (Beggan), Kathleen (Rooney), Dympna (Mc Kenna) and his brother-in-law Terry Dunne, his sister-in-law Winnie, his nieces, nephews, neighbours, friends and all who knew and loved him.
Jimmy will repose at his home today, Sunday March 8, from 2pm until 9pm. Jimmy’s funeral procession will leave his family home on Monday morning, March 9, to arrive to St Mary's Church, Urbleshanny for 11am Funeral Mass, with burial afterwards in adjoining cemetery.
