TidyTowns North West and West regional awards
The 2025 SuperValu TidyTowns North West and West regional awards were presented on March 23 at the Landmark Hotel in Carrick-on-Shannon, Co. Leitrim.
The ceremony celebrated outstanding community efforts, with multiple wins for Cavan Town and Shercock, while Killeshandra also secured an award.
Carrick-on-Shannon, named Ireland’s Tidiest Town 2025, was the standout winner, also claiming the title of Ireland’s Tidiest Small Town. Awards were presented by Minister for Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht, Dara Calleary.
Speaking at the event, the Minister praised the dedication of volunteers, noting that over 30,000 people have participated in recent years, contributing significantly to local communities. He highlighted the competition’s 68-year legacy in promoting environmental care and civic pride.
SuperValu, marking 36 years of sponsorship, also commended volunteers, with over one million hours contributed nationwide in 2025.
A record 929 entries were received this year.
