Paying tribute on social media, The Olde Post Inn confirmed: “It is with the greatest sadness that we share that Gearóid, known lovingly to us all as Gerry, passed away peacefully today. With the strength of Tara by his side, he faced the past number of years with remarkable courage and dignity. His legacy will live on through his beautiful children. Gerry’s smile and spirit never wavered, and his wit and humour were truly unmatched. His passion for everything he did touched and inspired everyone around him. Even when faced with the most difficult diagnosis, he continued to show up for others with generosity and kindness. Our prayers are with Tara, Orán, Lorcan, Emma & Eoin, Maura, and all the family through this difficult time.”
