The Creighton Hotel is a boutique, family-run hotel located in the heart of Clones. The hotel caters to the needs of the people of Clones town and its hinterland with the business strongly focused on family occasions and repeat customers. Families celebrate a wide range of events at the Creighton Hotel including christenings, communions, confirmations, parties, birthdays, wedding anniversaries, weddings, and funerals. The hotel team has grown from 12 to 36 staff, with a strong local base complemented by a diverse representation of the international community that Clones is now home to.

The Creighton Hotel is a family-owned and family-run establishment. Siblings Patrick and Edel have been at the helm since taking over from their parents in 2012, continuing a proud tradition of warm hospitality. “We are dedicated to preserving the charm and personal touch of a traditional family hotel,” they say with both present on-site each day, ensuring every guest receives the highest standard of service. The team shares this family spirit, understanding the care and commitment that comes with a family-run business. “We are proud to have built not just a staff, but a close-knit team we are delighted to call our extended family.”
What's the best business advice you've ever been given?
The best advice has come from our parents whose hard work has been the foundation to any success we may have had or shall have in the future. A few simple but powerful lessons: Always work on the business, not just in it - growth doesn’t happen by chance. Never underestimate the value of hard work - it’s the foundation of everything. Listen to your customers and your staff - they are your greatest source of insight and improvement.

Looking to the future, The Creighton Hotel is committed to continued growth while staying true to family values. In recent years, it has experienced a remarkable 200% increase in customer numbers, reflecting the trust and support of its guests. To meet this demand, the business has undertaken significant refurbishments, increasing bedroom capacity by 25% and expanding the dining area by a further 25%.
