Scotstown based Rally School Ireland is a dream made real by two brothers David and Malachy Smyth and a very business savvy woman, David’s wife Veronica back in 1999. Since then, the business has thrived.

A day out at Rally School Ireland provides a massive feel-good factor, whether it is a day spent with friends, colleagues or family - everybody gets the chance to feel the buzz of being a real rally and race car driver. The experience they have shared in the beautiful Monaghan countryside is often talked about for weeks or indeed years afterwards.

Describe the best thing about your service:

“For us sharing in the thrills of our visitors gives us a great sense of achievement,” says co-owner David Smyth as they see their visitors skidding and sliding and watch how much they love it. The secret sauce is undiminished enthusiasm, interest and passion for motorsports and for people - a powerful combination that goes way beyond business.

What’s the best business advice you’ve ever been given?

In a service business give your customer want they want and not what you think they want….for the business to succeed!

What does the future hold for your business?

Motor sports are growing with Scotland securing the World Rally Championship for 2027, Ireland is likely to follow. Rally School Ireland continue to build visitor numbers focusing on business away days, team challenge events and family days out, while linking in with tour operators to attract business.
