Over 400 new-build social homes in pipeline for Cavan
Nationally, 22,949 new-build social homes are in the pipeline
The latest Social Housing Construction Status Report (CSR) shows 411 new-build social homes are in the delivery pipeline for Cavan, underlining continued momentum in the State’s housing programme.
Of these, 162 homes were under construction at the end of Q4 2025, with a further 249 at design or tender stage.
Nationally, 22,949 new-build social homes are in the pipeline, including 9,703 under construction and 13,246 at design or tender stage.
This strong pipeline supports ongoing delivery following last year’s record output of more than 9,000 newly built social homes — the highest annual total to date.
Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage James Browne TD said:
“The continued momentum shown in today’s figures reflects the real and lasting impact that sustained investment in social housing is having both in Cavan and across the country.
“Such a robust pipeline provides a solid foundation for maintaining record levels of social housing delivery, ensuring that the momentum achieved to date can be sustained and strengthened in the years ahead.”
“This level of activity is not just about numbers. It is about providing secure, high-quality homes that transform people’s lives. Every new home delivered means long-term stability for a family or individual and I am determined that this progress continues at pace.”
The CSR provides detailed scheme-level data on new-build social housing across local authorities and Approved Housing Bodies, tracking projects from design and tender through to completion. It does not include local authority Part V delivery.
