A brand new RTÉ One series featuring architect Dermot Bannon exploring the homes of well-known personalities will air later this evening, with music producer Don Mescall among the first to feature.
Dermot Bannon’s Celebrity Super Spaces begins later this evening, Sunday, April 26, and continues on May 3, on RTÉ One and RTÉ Player.
In the series, Bannon visits celebrity homes across Ireland and abroad, uncovering the personal stories behind renovations, restorations and extensions, and what these spaces reveal about their owners.
In tonight’s opening episode, Bannon first visits music producer Don Mescall near Belturbet, where he tours a striking renovated church that serves as the heart of the property.
The programme also features Ireland rugby star Andrew Porter in his Wicklow home, along with his newly designed gym, and jewellery designer Chupi Sweetman, before heading to Howth to see inside the home of Vogue Williams and Spencer Matthews.
Interior designer Geri O’Toole also opens the doors of her restored 19th-century cottage and outbuildings in Limerick, sharing insights into working with high-profile clients and managing expectations on luxury projects.
Episode two sees Bannon visit comedian Joanne McNally in her London home in Clapham, before travelling to Sadler’s Wells East, part of London’s East Bank cultural district. He also visits the Dublin home of musician Camille O’Sullivan and actor Aidan Gillen, a nine-year restoration project that recently won the RIAI Public Choice Award. The episode includes a look inside the dressing room of drag artist Panti Bliss, where Rory O’Neill showcases a collection of drag couture.
The series concludes with chef Clodagh McKenna, who lives in a 300-year-old cottage in Broadspear, England, where she runs a 100-acre sustainable farm on the grounds of Highclere Castle in Hampshire with her husband Harry.
Dermot Bannon’s Celebrity Super Spaces airs Sunday 26 April and 3 May on RTÉ One and RTÉ Player.
